Well we are back on the mainland. We travelled on the Spirit of Tasmania on a day trip this time. It was a good crossing and we took time to have a nap and do some reading. Sandy wasnt impressed and didnt want to go into the kennels. On the night trip it seemed ok as she slept thoughout the night but the day trip is a different proposition apparently.
We were off the ferry by about 6.45pm and set the TomTom for Cath and Ken's place where we to stay a couple of days. We arrived about 9pm and they were waiting for us. Lovely people we met in Coral Bay, WA tearlier on in our trip. After a natter and a cuppa, we headed for bed.
The next day it was sooo hot, it was 35 degrees and we roasted. Today it started of very cool and overcast but has ended up quite hot again. The forecast for the next week here is between 38 and 40 all week.
Allen and Ken did some work in one of the sheds, lining the shed with some ply that Ken had. They were enjoying themselves. Cath and I caught up on all the activities that have been going on since we last saw them and took a drive into Warragul and walked around. Later that afternoon we made a call to Kolenda and John who was in Coral Bay with us all. It was good to catch up with us all together. We have made some good friends on this trip.
The farm has a variety of chooks, heaps of ducks, about 30 sheep, a couple of cows and other bits and pieces. They sell to the public, mainly to backyard farmers, and hobby farmers. We have been educated on farming by Nev and Nicky and now Ken and Cath.......it this setting a trend? Are we headed for a rural homestead? Who knows?
We are leaving here tomorrow and heading toward Tamworth as I am meeting my sister and friend there on Friday 17th for the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2014. Woohoo.......cant wait. Allen is barred from a 10km radius of Tamworth.
