Last night we went into Murray Bridge for dinner at the Bridgeport Hotel. We had a lovely dinner and really enjoyed our rare night out.
Today we drove to Mannum which is about 35km from Murray Bridge, just for the day. We walked the main street and the foreshore and got a feel for the place talking to locals. The Murray River is the focal point of this place and there are huge houseboats for hire called 'unforgettable'. There was one bloke fishing but all he was catching was carp which are not for eating. His wife was all rugged up under a tree surrounded by ducks....see photos.
We then caught the ferry across the Murray (free) which is a drive on drive off ferry which only takes a couple of minutes.
We had a lovely day out. The weather was cold though and very very windy. Looks like it will be that way for a bit yet.
