Travelling from Queensland to the NT is a long haul. We only stop for lunch at some roadhouse area and then move onto a selected rest area. After leaving Mt Isa, we camped our first night at Camooweal Qld - it is a huge area along a billabong and campers are able to camp alongside the billabong for a distance of 3 kms. The billabong had lovely waterlillies flowering. The photo on this blog was taken from inside our van looking out to the billabong.
The following day we travelled on to a camp area called 41 mile bore. Strange name but a nice big area for lots of campers.
Onward and westward, day three, we travelled to Dunmarra which had a caravan park next to the roadhouse. It was packed! They squeezed them in everywhere. We met another couple, Keith and Heidi, who were travelling in the opposite direction going through Alice to Adelaide. We ended up in the roadhouse restaurant for their special of the day for dinner. Nothing to write home about but hey! I didnt have to cook!
Day four, off we go with about 300km to get to Katherine.
