From Adelaide River we drove on through Hayes Creek, Pine Creek then to Katherine for some supplies, after lunch we took off again and stopped at Mataranka. Mataranka has natural springs which are crystal clear and we had a swim to cool us down. Then we located our camp ground for the night in a caravan park, nothing to speak of, and then walked to another natural spring called Bitter Springs. Unfortunately, due to the need for the wet season rains, it was a bit smelly. The water was still clear and swimmable but the edges were slimey and yuk!
