Today we did a trip out to various locations in the West Macdonnell Ranges. We travelled 130kms to Glen Helen Gorge for our first attraction. It is so dry out here, all the river beds are just busand but there is usually a pool of water at the gorges and Glen Helen was the same. Not a bad gorge but nothing else out here although there claims to be a 'resort' it was a joke.

We then turn toward Alice Springs to visit the other attractions. The next once was Ormiston Gorge which was similar to Glen Helen. Moving on we visited the Ochre Pitts, where the Indigenious have secret mens business and use the Ochre for the ceremonies. It was awesome! The colours are amazing and it looked like the rock would be soft but it was solid. Check out the photos of this place it is amazing. From there we went to Ellery Creek, another waterhold apparently swimable but I wouldnt swim in it, it stinks. Nice scenery though. Stanley Chasm was next on our list but when we got into the kiosk area we found they were charging for it and it was quite a walk, so we gave that a miss and moved on to Simpsons Gap, which we think was the highlight of them all. Wow, the rock formations here are gigantic amazing huge gorgeous awesome....I cant tell you how awesome they were. Wow.

We had a long day, but a good day. We had left Sandi at the van all day so we were anxious to get home, we had been gone all day. We were also quite tired. But we had promised to go to dinner so a shower and fresh clothes and off to dinner we go.

We visited a Vietnamese restaurant out toward the airport and it was beautiful. The outside area was decorated and the gardens were lovely. Lorraine, two of here friends an their two visitors joined us and we had a great night. We sang Happy Birthday to Al for the 2nd Nov as we dont know where else we will be. I think we are leaving here on the 1st.

Today Allen has gone to check out a transport museum and the RSL club war museum. Tomorrow morning I think he is having a game of bowls.
