Day 7 - 14 March 2018
We got up at 8am and we took it easy in the morning. Emma cooked some eggs and we had our breakfast. After doing some research, we reckoned that our first destination would be Gateway Yarra Valley. We drove out at about 11am.
On our way, we saw Yarra Valley Dairy and decided to stop by to have a look. The surrounding view was nice but it wasn’t anything near lunch time yet so we moved on.
We headed to our original destination - Gateway Yarra Valley. The kids were then on their way to pick some big and round red strawberries. It was fun for them. Armed with a pair of scissors each, they went around picking the best strawberries. I could sense their excitement because every now and then, you would hear them shouting “Mummy, is this one ok?” It was as though mummy’s approval would validate their decision of the strawberries that they’d picked. We then enjoyed the strawberries that we picked and brought those that we couldn’t finish back to our house.
We had originally wanted to head to Oakridge Wines for lunch. However, upon arrival, we learnt that it was close. Thankfully, there was Rochford Wines which was nearby. The food was great; we had steak, accompanied by a glass of red each.
After lunch, the kids were enjoying themselves at the large expanse of grass. It was so heartening to watch them running around with so much freedom. We just allowed them to do whatever they liked and we could tell that they really had a wonderful time, simply by just playing with each other.
We left Rochford at 3pm and we’re back at our house at about 330pm. We went to the pool to swim. However, the pool was freezing cold, mainly because summer was over. The pool didn’t look as cold as it was because when you are outside the pool, it didn’t feel as such. Anyway, within a couple of minutes, we were out of the pool and went back to the house.
Supermarketing time. We drove out to the Coles at Diamond Creek. Emma bought some stuff for cooking tonight’s dinner.
Like last night, Emma and the kids were watching DVD and I did some work. Tonight, I felt tired by the time it was 11pm and decided to go to bed early as it would be another long day tomorrow.
