Day 4:
We woke up very early in the morning; probably because we slept very early last night. And it so happened that Michael also woke up early. So the three of us (Michael, Emma and I) had a good chat about church and we shared about our lives as well. It was a very meaningful fellowship time for us.
We then had breakfast, followed by devotion, led by Denise. The passage was from Luke 10. Timely reminder that we should not be discouraged when people rejects us when we preach about God for they are rejecting God and not us.
We left for church service at about 1015am. One thing about the culture is that although the service was supposed to start at about 11am, it wasn't actually the case. We had a lot of informal time hanging around. But it was also a good thing that the church didn't have the luxury of chronologizing the programmes because it gave us opportunity to interact and minister to the people who were already in the service. One such example was a particular sister whom we prayed for and ministered to. Praise the Lord that she received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and also other words of encouragement for her life. I could only attribute this to God's opportune time. Ps Henry then preached a wonderful message and despite the lack of attendees, he still preached his guts out and that, really encouraged me.
After service, we went to take a look st their new land as they are in the midst of building a sanctuary for the church. After that, we went back to Ps Henry's home. When we reached Ps Henry's home, I just idled around and occasionally played with the kids, while waiting for Emma to cook us dinner. She is really so wonderful to serve us by cooking for us and the food certainly turned out to be yummy.
After dinner, we spent some time to minister to Ps Henry and sister Lerato. And after the session, what Ps Henry shared with us really moved me. Despite the many difficult situations that he went through, he could only see God as his ultimate reality. He told us without wavering that God is all that he has. That was such a powerful statement to make amidst the struggles that he and his family is facing. I am so encouraged in my heart that both Ps Henry and sister Lerato truly give their lives to the Kingdom sacrificially and without compromising. Indeed, when God is their everything, the only understanding is to trust Him wholeheartedly.
