These early mornings just keep coming! Up before sunrise, quick breakfast and we set off down into the crater! It was freezing as there was a thick blanket of fog that hung above us for a good hour, until it retreated and you could just see it hanging over the edges of the crater. There were different groups of animals here saw a lot more Zebra, huge heards of Wilderbeast, Hippos with some Lions about. Saw the lake of pink flamingos which was quite special too and we were treated to a bit of ostrich mating- don't look Ethel!
We headed out of the crater after an aminimal packed morning and back into the sunshine where we stopped for our packed lunch and at a little market souvenir shop- I made my first bartering attempt and managed to get a hand crafted wooden giraffe down by about 5 dollars. I will have to post this home though at some point as you can't take wood into Australia.
Back on the road, and it was about 2/ 3 hours to our next campsite- just outside Moshi. The shower here was amazing, boiling hot, big space and hooks on the door- happy bunny! TJ made a scrummy pasta meal after we'd scrambled to put our tents up and grab a shower, quickly finished up with a hot chocolate- milo which the Aussies were all raving about. The guides were able to upgrade here to the hotel close by but we were all happy enough with our new canvas homes. We all helped out with our pre-determinded chores for that day to wash up, clean the truck, help with chopping and cooking etc. Grabbed an early night following instructions to be at breakfast ready to go with tents all packed up by 4am the next morning! Wowsas...
