Today was just a very long transit drive- 12-14 hours to get down to Dar Es Salam, hence the early get up. Me and Amy were very proud of ourselves as we were first up for breakfast after putting our tent down and helping someone else. We drove a while before the sun came up and had a few stop offs for a quick wee in the bush- avoiding potential snakes and termite mounds (learning from our first bush stop where we thought a termite mound taller than us was a good privacy screen). We made the most of the long driving day, watched the lion king on my kindle, had a snooze listened to my iPod as we rolled past stunning mountain views, fields of pineapples and more little villages.
Got to our campsite which was advertised as 'bare foot paradise' and it really was, maybe more so after the long bus trip! We camped right next to the white sand beach with hammocks hung in the trees and chilled out with our group in the beach hut bar after a swim in the sea, a chill out in the hammocks and tree swings. Lovely! The sea was extremely warm, bath time! I'm a fan of the Indian Ocean, although there was quite a bit of seaweed. A very nice lasagne was served for tea and we were very happy with the toilet facilities- this is the main point of judgement these days!
