We got on the bus at 8:00 and headed out of Giza to Sakkarah. It was really foggy and a bit cold so we were all a bit worried about the views and photos that we would get of the pyramids. When we got to the step pyramid we couldn't see anything so Ibrahim took us down into the tombs. It was amazing to see the carvings and hieroglyphics on the walls and the colours that they used unfortunately you couldn't take photos). After going into two tombs we went back to the step pyramid and although it was clearing we needed the sun to come out to make it really clear. While Ibrahim was talking to us the sun came out and the sky was blue in minutes.Next we headed to a carpet factory that was way too expensive to even consider and then we drove to the ancient capital of Egypt Memphis and saw the giant statue of Ramses II.We finished the day with a fantastic optional excursion to Dahshur we were one of only two groups at these pyramids as they are still quite new to the tourist scene. We walked around and looked at the angles on the bent pyramid and we got to climb on and then descend inside to the chambers of the Red Pyramid.Tomorrow we are off to Luxor so when we got back to the hotel we packed (I picked up my jewelry as it was delivered to the hotel) and went back to the restaurant down the road where 17 of our group (of 24) ended up heading for dinner.
