Day 15
So this day started half way through our flight to Egypt. When we landed we could immediately tell the difference in the temperature. We were met by our tour co-coordinator Ahmad at the baggage area he already had my bag but we had to wait and wait and wait (then the carousel stopped) and then we had to wait and wait and wait some more finally we were all very happy to see Rene's bag.On the 45 min drive to the hotel the culture shock of Egypt set in.Watching people running across the freeway, cars driving wherever they want, the constant tooting of horns when they want to cut you off and not using seatbelts or indicators (For the record Rene and I both wore ours). We were inundated with information during the drive but neither of us was in the right frame of mind to take it in.We crossed the Nile and saw the pyramids in the distance which meant our hotel was close. As we pulled into the driveway we went through the customary vehicle bomb check and were whisked into the hotel to meet our guide.Again he talked a lot and all we wanted to do was go to the hotel room.We worked out the first couple of optional tours and he left agreeing to meet us again in the morning when the rest of the group is here. One of the hotel employees escorted us to our room showing us where many of the facilities are and checking that we were happy then the bellman brought our bags to us.We are so not used to this kind of service. We rested in the room for a little and then went to the Tex-Mex restaurant in the lobby before heading back to the room to watch some T.V. Yesterday I ended by saying it could only get better from here and from the initial service we have received from our tour company and hotel I was right.Things are looking up J.

Tania Hegarty Hi guys, you are such a good girl Sheree, finding time to write on facebook. I think I have a daughter who is travelling overseas somewhere. Oh, hang on a minute, Stephen just got a text. She says she and jac aren't coming home, loving Italy too much. Keep having a great time, oh I don't think I have to tell you that. Casey stayed last night (Mon.), took Ray back to Ballarat, we will go there on Sat. to pick her up. Love you, Tan.
mal I'm exhausted listening to all your travel experiences. Keep on enjoying yourselves. Love Mal
