When we got to the bus station, Dom rang up Jik from the Thaksin Grand Home which is where we are booked in for 2 nights, as they do free pick ups! But she didn't really understand us so we had to ask a Thai person to explain to her over the phone that we were at the bus station and need picking up, and that we're 4 hours late because of the bus palarva. She turned up and took us back to the hostel, and our room is MASSIVE! It's the best room yet (apart from the one we got upgraded to in Bangkok), and only for £5 a night, so we have booked an extra 2 nights here.
On the first day we just had a look around and there's not a lot to do here really! We found a Vogue tower but don't think its for that Vogue. Found a little place down the road called Coffee, and went there for breakfast and dinner the next day! As the food was sooo nice. Dom had a pancake with bananas on top, and for dinner a Green chicken curry in rice, and more pancakes with chocolate ice cream on top! And I had toast and jam, and for dinner a Chicken stir fry with rice, which was honestly the nicest meal ever. So we're going there again tonight!
Today when we got up it was pouring down with rain like nothing we had ever seen before! One minute's worth of rain could almost flood the streets outside, it's crazy but we love it! So we had breakfast in our hostel, which I am convinced is haunted as we haven't seen another soul apart from Jik the owner and her son, who just seems to play board games all day, and every time one of us is in the bathroom we hear weird noises coming from outside the room!! AND the other night there was a goat on the landing bleeting away and ramming the door I swear.
After breakfast the rain had died down a bit so we got the bus (another pick up truck with a cage on the back) to Ao Nang which is meant to be gorge. When we got there we had another breakfast! Because we are greedy britches, then went for a walk.
We walked down to the beach which had crazy waves going on! We haven't seen a wave since we got to Thailand, the sea has been sooo calm so far, but I suppose it's from the rain this morning maybe!? We walked along and ants kept biting my feet, they seem to love my feet and never want to eat Dom's! We kept on and found a gooorgeous big beach and there were millions of tiny crabs on it, no exaggeration! It was like a massive swarm of them but as soon as you step near them they all disappear under the sand. We found a group of one sort of crab that had one massive pincer and one small pincer haha!
We also walked through some sand that was like quick-sand! And our feet were sinking in so far and it was all squelching through our toes, it was soooo weird! But hilarious, we were screaming haha, and we kept touching things underneath and we couldn't see what they were!! Probably an octopus skeleton.
But yeah we think Krabi must be called Krabi because of all the crabs! They seem to love it here.
On our last day in Krabi we went on an elephant trek!! We were the only ones doing it which was really cool, and our elephant was so gorgeous, he was such an old grandpa of an elephant. Because we were up so high and going through the rainforest, we kept having to move branches and things out of the way, and at one point Dom nearly got his head bitten off by the biggest spider in the world! It was so putrid. Other than that it was so much fun though, and the elephant kept stopping to scratch his bum on a tree or something haha, and he was going up and down hills so we were all over the place on his back! Loved it so much :D
Went to our favourite place '@coffee' for breakfast, then went to get the boat to Koh Phi Phi, sooo excited! xxxx
