hi you guys, hope you're in a nice hotel now. have been speaking to a friend who knows singapore well. he recommends going to santoza island (not sure if spelt correctly). apparently its just off singapore and fairly cheap to get to. for good value food says go to newton circus (again not sure of spelling) and to go to Orchard Towers after 9-10 at night. he says you'd have never seen anything like it (don't know if good, bad, seedy or what).
