Hi everyone!
We got to Koh Samui really early this morning after the major bus journey and boat journey, and we have got our own little bungalow at Coconut Calm Beach Bungalows on Bophut beach. There are cockroaches, lizards and ants living inside, and the water doesnt work at the minute, but we don't care because we're in paradise! It is right on the beach with its white sand and clear blue water and we just want to stay here forever. It's so beautiful, but this isn't even considered one of the most beautiful islands that we're going to, so the best is yet to come! (hopefully)
Also Dom's found a 'football golf' place, where you play golf but with footballs and you kick them in the holes...! I've probably described that really badly but you get the gist. It's in Chaweng on the East of the island which is meant to be the most beautiful coast here, so three days on Bophut then three days on Chaweng, then we're off to Krabi for a week!
Hope everything at home is great, love you all xxxx
In Bophut we spent most of the time on the beautiful beach as it was right on our doorstep so we couldn't really say no.
We found a supermarket called the Big C down the road so there were many walks down there to get lots of croissants, bananas and crisps. Our main diet is made up of those three things at the moment really! On our way there one day we saw a dead cat that looked just like Lolo with all guts hanging out of its nose :( it was so awful and I can't stop thinking about it! But the next time we went past it had gone so hopefully it's in cat heaven now.
We just chilled out and sunbathed for 3 days in Bophut really and didn't get upto much, apart from we went to a tourist place and the girl gave us a deal to go to Krabi on the 10th, and half way through filling in the forms we changed our minds and thought we could find it cheaper somewhere else, so made an excuse that our money was in the room and we'll just go and get it...and didnt come back. So after that we had to walk the long way round everywhere as we couldn't go past her, and she was right on the entrance to our hotel!
Also one of the waiters at our hostel was so nice and was telling us that we should have paid 50 Baht max for the taxi from the boat to the hostel, and we paid 500 Baht!!!! Arghhh.
Anyway we got on a little bus to Chaweng that was just a pick up truck with a cage on the back! So good to have the breeze though. He dropped us in town and we got a taxi from there to our little hostel called Embassy Lakeview by the lake (obv), and it was shut! All the metal shutter things were down, the door was locked and the grass was all overgrown and messy soooo we thought sh*t. The taxi driver spoke to the gasoline people next door and they were ringing the hostel owner to try and sort it out, and eventually he opened the shutters from inside, bare feet and looking like he'd just woken up. The inside looked like his house, with laptop wires, drinks and the iron out on a table etc. He was a bit awkward but introduced himself as Luigi! He was Italian and took us to our room, where we had a TV and DVD player and he had DVDs we could borrow so things were looking up!
We went to explore and found the main road through the town, which had McDonalds, Boots, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and a lot of travellers! We found the beach and it's so beautiful you can't even imagine. The sand is like flour!! Which sounds weird but is amazing, and the water is so clear you can see fish swimming all around your feet.
We had a bit of a rabies scare as a man on the beach came along with a monkey hanging round his neck! As we were too awe struck to say anything, he put the monkey on my lap and took a picture, which was all good until the monkey bit my finger! So we went to the international hospital to make sure I hadn't got anything from him and it was all good thank god. Dom was so scared of me and didn't come anywhere near me til he knew I was safe haha.
The next day we hired a moped which was so fun!!!! Dom was driving it, and when we first got it he had no idea how to switch it on or anything, and all the Thai people were laughing at him! They were being so mean but he soon got the hang of it and I perched on the back, and we were off! Dom was loving life feeling like James Dean and by the end of the day he was racing the locals round town! It was so much fun, and we went to Football Golf!! Think this was Dom's favourite day ever to be honest, and he won, but only by 1 point!!!! He's saying this isn't true and I kicked the ball a million times but shhh.
Also on the moped we went over a pot hole and I got a bit of whiplash! Ha I think it was anyway, my skull felt like it cracked into my neck and I could feel it all night after. AND a massive grasshopper flew into my chest and gave me the biggest fright of my life, so it wasn't the best day for me, but it still was pretty good.
Also on the moped, we went to 'Big Buddha' which is a huuuge temple with stairs going up to the Buddha and it was pretty cool, I got my fortune told by this machine thing that goes by what day of the week you were born on, and a 5 Baht coin surprise surprise. But it was all good, phew!
Today we have just had a lazy day, been to the beach and I made friends with a ladyboy called Jojo. He/she fancied Dom so much and even said 'i dont like ladies, i like you', errrgh! He came over while Dom went to get some drinks and we were talking about hair extensions and things, it was really weird but so funny, and he/she was telling me she was 39 and she didnt look it at all, but showed me her ID card which she was a man on! It was all very confusing. She also said that if me and Dom had babies they'd be beautiful, awww. Oh also, the ladyboy count at the end of Koh Samui is 24.
Since this morning our electricity and water have been off, which is a bit awful but we're managing!
We're off to Krabi at 6am tomorrow and looking forward to a change of scenery, so will update when we're there. xxxx
Woke up at 5am to get ready and go up the road to catch our bus, which was late! But the ladyboy count has sky-rocketed because Koh Samui in the middle of the night is ladyboy central!! I'd say it's now in the 40s, let's say 42. The bus was crazy, the driver was going sooo fast and overtaking everyone but it dropped us at the Na Thon pier, where we got on to a coach which drove us on to the ferry! Had an awful time on the ferry but we won't talk about that.
Got to Surat Thani, and found out we had to wait an hour and a half for another coach to pick us up and take us to Krabi. We had been told that this journey was one bus the whole way! An american man got talking to us and said do we fancy getting a little minibus and splitting the price between us as the coach journey was going to take 4 hours for some reason, and the minibus would only take 2 hours! So we thought about it and had a walk around Surat Thani for a bit and by that time we thought we may as well get the coach. Got on the coach and it was just a horrible public bus, the only seats left were on the back row which a whirring engine on our backs which made Dom feel ill. So we got straight off and got a mini bus, and the american man came with us!
This bus was a bit weird and had school children getting on and off throughout the journey but it dropped us in Krabi. Well it was more like the driver shouting at us to get off and get a motorbike from there!? But we had no clue where we were. Found out that the Krabi bus station was a 10 minute walk from there which was lucky, so we set off and eventually found it... xxxx
