After a great night we were excited to visit the Jack Daniels distillery. We joined a tour and got to see a lot of the site as well as learning how the whiskey is made. It is in a beautiful location and we saw the cave where the water comes from that goes in JD. I did not know but it is unique because stacks of maple wood are set on fire, the charcoal is collected and grinded down and then the whiskey is dripped through ten feet of this charcoal before it is barreled. I did not know that all the JD in the world is produced here in the small town of Lynchburg. The farmers feed the left over mash to the cows (happy cows!). After our visit we got to do some tasting. We then looked around the cute, quaint town and saw Vicky from last night. This is a really lovely town with really lovely people.
