Early start before driving into San Francisco to catch the ferry to Alcatraz. Exploring the Island was amazing and the audio guide really brought the history to life. Today we rode the Bart in to San Francisco. It was quite something standing at the Castro Valley station in the middle of the freeway watching the big trucks thunder past. We came up from the Bart onto Powell Street and were immediately struck by the beautiful architecture and then the excitement of seeing our first Bloomingdales.
