Today we rode the Bart in to San Francisco. It was quite something standing at the Castro Valley station in the middle of the freeway watching the big trucks thunder past. We came up from the Bart onto Powell Street and were immediately struck by the beautiful architecture and then the excitement of seeing our first Bloomingdales. Had a big lie in after realising we were up for 33 hours yesterday! We were then taken for a lovely Italian lunch in Hayward before meeting the lovely granddaughters Maria and Maggie. We then headed to the shopping mall for some necessary new clothes. The mall was huge with everything you could need and more plus Pottery Barn and Macys. A lovely relaxed day. Amazing! After surviving our nice turbulent flight we arrive in San Francisco on the morning of Wednesday 20 May?! We then pick up the Dodge Challenger before driving to Castro Valley.
