Today was Keith’s birthday, which we started with a French breakfast in the back garden. Seb and Becky had bought him some air pods as a present which he spent most the day setting up and playing with.
Everyone kindly indulged me in some shopping. In an almost deserted outlet shopping centre there were some tremendous bargains to be had. Similar in theory to Woodbury Common outside New York. The Paris outlet centre is about an hours drive from Paris itself and had many brands at reduced prices. At Nike I managed to get a new pair of football boots, gym & running trainers all for £90. Further good news was that the Armarni Outlet here did stock AJ gear. I got a jumper in the sale and a outlet discounted new wallet. Only after Keith persuaded me over Becky’s reservations.
The football had just kicked off when we returned home. Keith and I watched Newcastle’s poor performance while Becky and her mum chilled out in the sun out front. We did join them at half time for more cheese, sausage, pate and bread. After sitting in the sun with some wine post match. We decided to go down and play some boules. Keith came out victorious with Becky soundly last. Becky and I both played better when Keith and Susan weren’t around!
The outdoor pool was too tempting to resist and we all went in. It was nice and quiet early evening time, which allowed us to do some lengths.
As it was a special occasion we returned to the house to get dressed up for dinner. We drove to St Germain En Laye to Keith’s favourite restaurant. We sat out on the terrace which overlooked the Chateau of St Germain. This was a great was to feel part of the bustle of the nightlife while being one step removed.
