Today was about heat. Record heat. I had only managed about 4hrs sleep on top of the bed through the night and felt quite groggy. We ate breakfast outside in the back garden which is such a nice relaxing setting. As the mercury continued to rise we headed to the pool to cool off. The pool was very quiet around midday and it was great to be in the water and feel human. You needed to wear sunglasses though as the suns reflection off the water was quite blinding. ...

Today was Keith’s birthday, which we started with a French breakfast in the back garden. Seb and Becky had bought him some air pods as a present which he spent most the day setting up and playing with. Everyone kindly indulged me in some shopping. In an almost deserted outlet shopping centre there were some tremendous bargains to be had. Similar in theory to Woodbury Common outside New York.
