¡Estamos en España! We got to Cáceres on Wednesday and since then it has been a crazy meeting our host families and learning about the town.

Our host family consists of a mom and dad. They are super nice and our mom is an amazing cook! They have been hosting students and professsors for 20+ years. They have been very good about speaking slow enough so we can understand them.

We have had amazing food since we have been here. There is always coffee, tea and cookies. There is fresh french bread at every meal. The very first thing our mom made us was vegetable puree, since then we have had some sort of fish with the head still on it, but as long as there are fresh vegetables I won't complain.

Today we walked around the city with our host mom. She took us to El Parque Príncipe, which is a huge park with a lot of paths, fountains and art. It is gorgeous. I cannot wait to go running there! The whole city is so beautiful. I am very happy that I get to call this place my home for the next 3 1/2 months.

Tonight we are going out with other Iowa State students to dinner and a festival. Monday we start classes. Wish us luck!
