We finally arrived in Queenstown, and it was more fabulous than I had even imagined.I had been told continuously how great it was, but I didn't expect it to be so beautiful! It's based on a huge lake, and is just this stunning little ski town with gorgeous shops and bars, and surrounded by huge mountains. It's got such a great vibe, and everyone tends to stay there for a few days. Its fab because it meant everyone I had met along the way was there, so it was brilliant fun.We were lucky enough to be there for Paddy's Day and got to go to a rugby match (The New Zealand Highlanders versus the Australian Western Force)! There was a bbq and horizontal bungy to keep us all entertained as well. We were also there for Charlie and Lisa's birthday, so all spent far too much money for travelers, got ourselves as glammed up as we could, and took the gondola to the top of the mountain and at the most superb buffet I have ever eaten.I might be safe to say it could be the best food I have ever had.The starters were amazing, so I just ignored the main course (carvery - dull), and had two plates of main. When deciding what ice cream to have with my dessert, I made the correct decision and took both!It was naughty, but it was just so damn good that we couldn't feel bad about it!And the view was outstanding!
Staying on the subject of food, we did of course do what every person who visits Queenstown must, and had a FergBurger.Oh dear lord those burgers are good. When we finally tried to leave Queenstown we were all so fat we couldn't fit on the bus!I have learnt so many new drinking games - its brilliant!
