Bangkok- the city of neon and funny looking women!!! We got to the legendary Khao San Road at about 10pm on saturday night- it was kinda like trying to walk down Broad Street when all the bars shut- however we had backpacs on and it wasn't funny. All the guest houses were full and we ended up in Wally's (thats what we were for staying there). Luckily it was only for one night then we moved to somewhere without worms in the sink!! After China it is such a relief coming to a country where everyone speaks English and the food is amazing. People have said that Khao San Road is tacky but the neon and alcohol were a welcome change for us. And cheap- O MY GOD we ate lunch at a pub for less than 2 quid and the place we stayed was about 5 golden nuggets!!! We did venture to the Grand Palace one day. We took the river boat there and walked back which was interesting becasue we are in the wet season at the mo and my god does it rain. I have never seen storms like it!! I also have to tell you about they lady boys!! Well- just men with long hair and bad make up really. You cant help but stare at them becasue they are really funny. Ad, I will get you a pic.
