Hi everyone!! We made it! The flight was fine as we managed to get extra leg room for free-bonus! And there was free booze all the way but I couldn't get Dan off the computer games! From the airport we got the Maglev (high speed magnetic train) which went a whopping 431km/h- ey carumba!! Think the force made us tired as we slept for 16 hours that night. It is really hot, about 27C but 80% humidity so very sweaty. We went to see some sites yesterday- the Oriental Pearl Tower which has views at 350m, the fourth largest building in the world, but it was quite cloudy so we didn't get to see too far. We also walked along the Bund next to the river which is fun apart from everyone tries to sell you everything, including fish kites! Our first meal was fab and only cost about 6 quid, then we got fleeced at a German resturant last night but we learnt from our mistake. This morning we had spicy noodles for our brekkie- so hot it made our noses run- not sure our stomach's can take it! However.... at one quid we can't complain. Also dabbled in some Chinese tea- think it just tastes like soil! (but Dan disagree's) Just off to the Yuyuan Gardens and then to Remnin Square. Hoping to leave Shanghai tomorrow and head to Nanjing, so will try to update you again then, but we are finding it hard to get onto the internet. One last point..... we have been here 3 days now and have only received 4 emails, one of which was junk!! We understand that it has been the Bank hols but pull your finger out and get typing!!!
