We started off in Lake Havasu, it was another early morning start. We went for a stroll around the lake in the 44 degree heat, it wasn't even past 12pm and it was this hot! Before we left we picked up a pizza which filled us up for our trip.
The drive to Las Vegas was only a couple of hours and Ian even managed to come off the highway & drive on route 66 for about 5 miles when he saw the sign for it! He just couldn't resist.
When we arrived in Vegas we were overwhelmed by the size of the hotels, it was a cross between the Manchester Arndale (or Leicester highcross depending where you are from) and an airport. The check in was very similar to an airport check in without about 200 people all wanting to check in. It was very organised and we even managed an upgrade to a 'Bellagio' fountain view room which was amazing. Even the bath has a window that looks out on the strip.
We had a stroll out late afternoon where Ian embarrassingly drank a can of beer through the streets to fit in with everyone else! He loved it. We stocked up on beer and snacks because drinks are really expensive in the hotels (Zoe if you wanted a bottle of bacardi here it would cost you $105 about £65 as you can see from the pic).
Tomorrow we are going to have a wander in as many of the hotels as we can and Ian wants to put 20 dollars (big spender) on black 24.
One more thing, the cat hotel kindly sent us pictures of Bella on her holidays. Doesnt she look happy.....?

daddio Wow! Just facetimed and saw the fantastic view of the fountains from your balcony...very jealous! Route 66...what a memory for you both. Can you put me 20 dollars on red 23..no really...and how much for a bacardi? Are you trying to give mum nightmares!,....( if you see george clooney, call the police , he will be planning a heist)
Chris Drinking beer in the streets, ah that takes me back to cold nights walking the streets of Whitworth with some beer I bought with my paper round money! It might be worth starting a 'car bar' at those prices, theyre almost as expensive as your wedding! Enjoy losing all your money.
Deb remember names of hotels for future reference - you are selling Las Vegas to me.... what a fantastic experience.... guess no bacardi for you then!
