We packed our suitcases and checked out of our hotel in las vegas. We have had a great week here and will definitely miss the water fountains!
It felt like it took us ages to get out of vegas, we were also busy trying to find a petrol station and ended up doing about 3 u-turns.
We were back on the open road heading to mammoth lakes to our stopover in snowcreek resort. The drive was the longest of the whole trip taking over 5 hours. The journey was very surreal, we drove on some very lonely roads through mountains, deserts and dirt tracks. Pocahontas was amazing!
We hit a mountain range where we negotiated some very windy roads and dips going up & down the mountain sides, nic felt a little sick afterwards.
We stopped & ate our sandwiches we bought Thursday which were the greatest & just what we needed. We topped up our "gas" wherever we could.
One of our stops was in Bishop which was a small town that had everything including a McDonalds with free wifi! We both enjoyed a cheeky burger.
We reached snow creek resort around 4pm and was surprised by our digs. Completely different to our last 4 days in vegas, it was a wooden lodge with a big comfy couch and 2 double beds.
After the long drive we decided to order a pizza and had it delivered to our room. Ian enjoyed a few beers and trashy American TV.
We will be heading to San Francisco tomorrow on the final stretch of our trip. I keep thinking we need to make the most of it before we head back to the cruddy weather back home!
