Slept in this morning. Another beautiful sunny day in Mykonos. After reading and reading, we decide to go to Platis Gailos for our beach day . The young lady on our transfer recommended Pagada but hotel recommend PG. after studying the transportation , hotel said to hire a transfer. This was best decision for 40 euro. Rick at last minute decided to go with us. He was not sure of another day in the heat. Did not know what to expect. We walked on narrow boardwalk between the line of restaurants and sun chairs of a medium sized crescent beach. In the middle there seemed to be plenty of room. Hostess sat is with 3 together 6 of 7 rows back from beach. Your row determines the price. Ours are cheapest with 12 euros each. There are hundreds of sun chairs on this beach. The hostess brings us ice water and we are set. I get hot quickly and go for a swim. Large sand but not rocks like sea of Corinth. Water is cool and crystal clear. Feels so good. Back to chair and not too long and Grant wants to swim too. We try to count the yachts in our cove. At least 24. Later in afternoon we have lunch in restaurant behind us . Mykonos Dove. We split a butter leave w fig and cheese in mayo dressing, some sort of Greek panznella and a margarita and procuitto pizza. Table by the edge and cool in the shade. Waitress is nice. Smiles a lot. It’s like people here appreciate their jobs even though they are dealing with lots of tourist. Back to our chairs. Not nearly as hot now. The people watching is so fun and at 4 pm the disco music started next door . Young lady told me yesterday . Beach party starts at 4 pm. At 2 am they move to town until 9 am!! Oh My!!! Almost everyone on beach in a 2 piece...oh wait that’s because they are all young. Lol! I’ve seen lots of cute cover ups. Lacy. Lots of tattoos . One of most interesting is bows on back thighs of a girl. Doesn’t she know that is the first place for cellulite. A little trouble figuring out how to make a phone call, you have to hold the 0 to get a +, transfer is on his way. Worth every penny. Spotted hotel we would have stayed if On Fantasy travel. Would have been great location. Back at hotel we head straight for the pool to cool off again. Showered in our hot room. The air was never very cool in our room disputes having it set on 17c and high fan. Off for the adventure of finding our restaurant. Kalavaski #9 in Trip Advisor in the Vencia Boutique Hotel. It is quite a hike even though google Maps says less than 1/2 of mile. The map took us up through back alleys of Mykonos town then up switch back busy road. We were sweaty messes and Rick was so mad at me when we arrived. In the end worth the climb. The view over the Aegean Sea was worth the hike even before the fabulous food. We started with grilled octopus and mussels in a lemon wine broth. As the sun sets and light darkens into beautiful light, I had sea bass. The best food yet. They some how infused a smoke flavor from the grill. Rick had the special which was marinated then grilled pork tenderloin on risotto. Grant had the shrimps with a beautiful presentation with heads still on. We still have something to say to each other after about 27 meals together which is good. We found a short cut trail back down to town. Much easier. We had some extra time so slowly walked through the quaint streets full of shops. It was a great day... good night.
