Late start this morning with bus leaving at 10. Tour only showed us a view of Athenia temple and did not walk down to it. You can already tell it is a hot hot day. I think Mili did not think some of the group could make the walk. Off to the museum and its treasurers then the hot climb to Apollo’s temple. Delphi is so interesting with its treasuries and world history and Oracle. After Mili finished her history lesson, we walked up above the theatre for pictures then made the hot steep hike to the stadium. I have pictures to prove I made it. Marble seats instead of grass. About half our group made the hike. Felt Like it was slick on the steps and pebbles coming down. I looked like an old lady but If Grant falls it’s a scrap . If I fall we are on our way to hospital and home. It was a blistering hot morning but we survived and actually enjoyed ourselves. Have I mentioned that there are only 14 in our group. England, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Italy and Wisconsin . We have been told that 34 more are joining us to Meteorea. Darn it!! Lunch was at the same family run place as before. I ordered the stuffed tomatoes and they were “just like mama Greece makes”. I was so happy. We sat with a couple from Perth. They have traveled all over the world. He mostly backpacking in the 70s. So interesting. 4 hour bus ride with one coffee stop. I had the pomegranate juice from the area as recommended. Drove through beautiful valley with lots of agriculture . Beautiful fields of sunflowers. I was able to sleep through the mountains and not get motion sick. The olive groves had trees over 600 years old. Hotel Divanti . Our room has a view of Monastery. After dinner walked to town square. Sat at a cafe and had a few drinks and watched all the young people out for coffee. It was fun to be in the action in a smaller town. The rock cropping are so unusual and beautiful.
