We had already been to Barcelona last year and we arrived a lot earlier then planned so we found the hostel and decided to go to the beach. The hostel was DISGUSTING!!! The worst place I have ever ever been -my sheet had sick on it! and there were 24 beds in this room and the floor had literally never been cleaned and there was a mouldy pink shower curtain opposite our bed and it was a shower and a broom cupboard next to that was a toilet. It was horrible the shower curtain didnt cover anything and everyone could see you if you got a shower they also had a roof terrace with a shower outside aswell.

We went down to the beach as quick as possible to stop me from crying at the state of the place we were sleeping thank god it was only for one night. Barcelona is like an american city with the whole place set out on blocks. We still managed to get lost and ended up finding a cheap all you can eat spanish place which was lovely and then we ate for like 2 hours probably not the best thing to do before going to the beach. The beach was huge and very busy but the water was flithy a funny brown colour with loads of rubbish that people had thrown in. The waves were amazing though just like where we had gone last year in Spain. Not boring waves, waves that are big enough to knock you over which did happen to us more then once even Dan got floored.

We walked down the beach and ended up at the nudest area even though there were no signs with like 95 % men think we saw like 2 women. it was gross there wre walked past pretty quickly- I think I am scarred for life!!! We then walked down Las Ramblas at night time which was nice but we were always careful of our bag as it is the pickpocket capital and I broke my sunglasses back at the hostel I didnt even have a shower Dan managed to find a different one with an actual door but I was too disgusted by the state of this place to go near anywhere. We slept in our sleeping bags that night even though it was like 20 degrees and they were built for like 5 degree weather. We left very early in the morning.
