Our first flight from London was not too bad as the stopover was short, but everything was in Spanish so we knew it would be hard from the beginning!
The stopover in Madrid was boring as it was a new terminal and everything was being built so it was pretty boring. The next flight was poor but we slept the whole way so it wasn't too bad but if it had been during the day the 13 hours would've been torture!!
We arrived and got a taxi to the hostel, luckily we checked in straight away as it was 7 in the morning and we just wanted to sleep! The people next door to us were having a massive argument which woke us up about midday and we decided to venture out!
We went to a main square where we at and the sat for about an hour by a church. We probably went to sleep at about 5pm because we were so jet lagged.
The next day we decided where we were going to go, and asked the hostel owner to get us bus tickets but he said he couldn't get through and told us to go there ourselves. He even told us that the area wasn't good and as we speak zero Spanish it seemed like it would be a massive task. We decided to book online instead! That was in English and very easy. It was so easy we decided to book our next few coaches in Peru. We got our first of many set menus for lunch, which was difficult as we didn't even know it included a starter and we told him 20 times we didn't want soup which must've confused him loads!
We didn't actually end up seeing much of Lima but we weren't that fussed because we will be back in March!
In the morning we headed to the bus station which was massive and seemed more like an airport terminal! You even had to check your luggage into the bus, and it got weighed and everything!
