GRACELAND!
What a place - we loved it. Walking through The King's house and viewing his possessions was quite surreal. The grave area was beautiful and peaceful.
Moving on to see his cars and outfits was something else and to see how much money he donated to charities and friends over the years was humbling - such a generous man.
The heavens opened in Memphis just after lunch, don't think I've known rain like it - it's still hot though!
This afternoon we headed back downtown to Sun Studios where Rock and Roll all began - what a superb tour learning all about the "beginning" and how Elvis tried for a whole year to a get a recording contract. The studio is still used at night and U2 recorded a few tracks from their Rattle and Hum album there.
Nick then had a Gibson guitar factory tour which he thoroughly enjoyed and has since been lovingly ogling them on the Internet!
A quick dip in the guitar pool finished off our day.
Route 66 once again beckons tomorrow but a lot of travelling is required to get there so maybe no blog update tomorrow...
