Wanaka

Wanaka is not even a stop on the Stray bus, but after spending 5 minutes there you instantly ask yourself why. It is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen. We got off here and stayed for 2 nights and it was so worth it! We spent the first night all cooking a roast dinner in the hostel which was so luxurious for backpackers, everyone in the kitchen hated us with envy! We then went to the cinema which was really cool because it's a room of sofas, which you can sit on and it has a vintage beetle in the corner which doubles up as a chair in which to watch the film. It was really cool because they have an interval and they bake fresh cookies for you!

The next day me and Lois hired bikes and went cycling round the never-ending lake!

Apart from my chain coming off my bike twice, followed by my back-wheel falling off while I was riding, plummeting me head-first into a tree, it was a really good afternoon!

Once the drama was over we spent the whole time with our cameras in our hands. It was such a great day and you could see the mountains really clearly over the lake! Definitely a good way to spend the day!
