Raglan

Raglan was a really cool place. It is known as one of the best surfing spots in the world, and after spending one minute spent on the beach you can see why. The waves were awesome! It was a really chilled out sort of upmarket hippie town. The hostel was in the middle of the bush and was really nice!

Although it was expensive and also too cold to surf, we still had a really nice day looking round the town and checking out the beach. In the evening we all ate together and sat up talking for hours, before heading to the fire fox in the dark. This was an ariel cable in he middle of the bush which went really quickly down the hill. Our driver Nat thought it would be great fun to do it in the dark because it was more fun, more scary and it also gae us the chance to see the glow worms in the trees! It was so much fun, you couldnt see anything just hear people screaming as they hurled themselves on the pole. The scariest thing about it was that you had no awarenes of when or how it would stop, so you just had to sort of hope you got to the end safely!

We only stayed in Ragland one night but in the summer months I would have loved to spend a while there to improve my surfng skills! It was a really nice place!
