Today marks the end of week one for class. Overall thoughts? I think I'm going to learn a lot, which is obviously the point. :) I think I chose all the right classes and have three out of my four classes with my bff, Andrew. (I figured he'd appreciate that--haha.)
Like I mentioned, I am taking four classes. Each is an hour long and meets three times a week. Classes are Monday-Thursday, which makes it ever-so convenient for traveling. I start class at nine every morning, with the exception of Monday, which is ten. Our last class ends at two, just in time for lunch and siesta. I find more often than not that I use "siesta time" to catch up on things or organize myself. I've never been big on napping, but I think Spain may get the best of me soon. :)
My Classes: May I remind you that none of my teachers speak English, along with my host family and more than 95% of the population here. I don't feel like my speaking ability has improved after two weeks yet, but my comprehension level definitely has.
Spanish 303: This class is a conversation class, which consists of speaking the entire period. This will help a lot with our grammar, which I think is the most challenging for the group as a whole.
Spanish 331: This is a Spanish Literature appreciation course. I feel like this will be very interesting as it helps us understand the culture, as well as breaking down the language.
Spanish 352: This is a Phonetics course, which will be of great use! This will help with our writing ability and, of course, our speaking ability.
323: Spain Today: This course will teach us about the geography, culture and history of Spain. I feel like this will be so neat considering everything we're learning we're able to see when we walk out the door. How beautiful!
