Today we headed into Edinburgh to do the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle.
Claire meet us at the Castle and her niece Fiona works there and was able to get us in free which was great.

The castle is lovely only small surprisingly but a lot of history the views are amazing and we saw the Crown Jewels.

We meet up with Louise another cousin of Brian's and her daughter Millie for lunch then Brian and I walked the Royal Mile.

We took in Greyfriars Bobby hotel and the cemetery where the little dog is buried plus his owner (we have watched the movie a couple of times and it is just as the movie depicts, will have to watch the movie again when we go home).

We walked down the mile to Holyrood Palace the Queens residence when in Edinburgh but didn't go inside 20 pounds each was I bit rich for us so just took the picture from the gate.

Walked back up the mile taking in a pint at a local and watching street performances as we got closer to the Castle.

Edinburgh is in the middle of their month long festival and the mile was super busy with tourists and locals.

We ended our full day with dinner with the cousins and their families which was just lovely. They have really embraced us and looked after us while we have been here.

Brian's cousin Helen and Bill whom we having been staying with have today gone to Croatia for their holidays. We will miss them but Kate (Helen's daughter) & Craig (Kate's partner) will keep an eye on us until we leave early Thursday morning for Worcester.
