Our second day in Scotland and Bill was kind enough to drop us both into Dunfermline. We headed off down the high street toward the abbey and the gardens (the glen) which were lovely and very well maintained. The abbey is very historic and the resting place of Robert the Bruce. Tea and scones at the peacock tea rooms then we explored Dunfermline further. Caught the train back to Kirkcaldy and wandered down from the station to the sea front again the age of the buildings amaze us. Managed to find a nice pub (well done Brian) to have a refreshment. Helen then came for us. After dinner we head off for a run (not jogging) around loch leven (very pretty) which takes us through villages that Brian's mum grew up particularly Balingary and the Geddes family home, still there after all these years. After a brief walk at the loch we call into the a lovely pub The Balgeddie Toll and enjoy a pint with Bill and Helen. Really enjoyed the day and looking forward to a road trip and picnic tomorrow at Pitlochry.
