We arrived into Florence and realised we hadnt checked how to get to the hotel from the Railway Station. As Milan had bamboozled us geographically, we're expecting the same thing in Florence. So we jump into a cab and the driver makes a big fuss about the address. Thirty seconds later we're at the hotel...it would probably have taken us fifteen seconds to walk!!! Doh!! The driver, sensing that we probably wouldnt be too happy parting with five euros for our journey across the road makes up for it by arguing with every other motorist on our brief journey. Another lesson learnt....always check where the hotel is.

We're staying in an amazing place, it's an artist studio in a very old building, this is thanks to Mrs. Gibbs' research back at Moonbase Alpha. We throw the bags in and marvel at the place, it's even got a good echo going here as the ceiling is about twelve foot high. It also has an impressive stone spiral staircase. We then hit the town and promptly do what we do best......get lost. Florence however, is a nice place to get lost in. there's an architectural wonder on every corner. We do the usual thing and walk round and round, gradually things become more familiar and we manage to work out where we are. We make the most of the apartment in the evening and get some takeout food and relax a bit. it's been quite a week.

Sunday In Florence

We're up to a noisy Florence despite it being a Sunday. We nip over the road where breakfast is being served. This time it's recognisable and we make the most of it, we then take off around the city to take in the culture..of which there's lots and more than I could ever write here. if interested I suggest you look it up on Google. It's simply an amazing place with some of the greatest architecture, despite this, the Chinese tourists prefer to have their photograph taken outside the Salvatore ferragamo shop rather than the breathtaking Duomo.

Tomorrow we're heading to Naples then to the island of Ischia........hopefully, as I've got a feeling it may be a race to get to the ferry in time..............Here we go again.
