Hello everyone,
On the way down here we went via Brighton. It's a small village just on the beach and we stopped to take a photo of us and the sign. Once in Owaka we found a nice place to stay. We went to Tunnel Hill which used to be part of the old Catlins (thats the name for this whole area) railway. It was completed in 1895 and took 30 years to build as it was all dug out by using pick axes only. It is obviously not used now and your able to walk though it. It was 250 metres long and is pitch black. Very cold and damp inside and a little eerie. Next we went to Nugget Point and saw lots of seals. It's called Nugget Point due to all the small land masses sticking out of the sea. We took a walk up to the light house with some amazing views. On the drive back we got stuck in a huge road block of cows. It was very funny as they wouldn't shut up.
We are moving on but staying in the Catlins area.
Lots of love Darren, Gemma and George xxx xxx xxx
