Hello,
We just came here for a morning. But there is two very good reasons to come here. One being the drive up from Motueka through Takaka, which is a lovely little village and onwards to Collingwood. The scenery is just beautiful. The second reason is that Collingwood has the best chocolate house in the world and oh... my... god they're amazing. We spent over $21 on them, about 7 to 8 quid. They are just so nice and very, very rich. Hopefully they'll import them to the UK at some point :o) On the way back just before lunch, we stopped off at this little house where they make their own sausages. So we got some for dinner. Gemma did sausages and apples and they were lovely, thanks Jamie Oliver :o) We also saw Pupu springs and yes it is pronounced poo-poo! The water here is the clearest we have ever seen anywhere, it was beautiful.
After a little picnic we went to Harwood Hole. It takes 45minutes of walking through forest tracks which was also used in the Lord of the Rings. You then come across this gigantic hole in the ground which only expert rock climbers are allowed to abseil down. The hole is well over 300metres deep and 250metres wide. It was just amazing and there are no safety barriers so you have to carefully look over to appreciate it. You can't see the bottom as it gets very dark very quick. If you clap, you hear the echo well afterwards. It was all just breath taking and made you feel very small. Again the photos just don't show you the scale of this thing!
We're staying in Richmond tonight so speak to you all from there.
