Mui Ne is really peaceful & quiet (bar the buses and motorbikes honking every now & then!). There are no sellers trying to get you to buy sunglasses/fruit/crisps/books/sweets/cigarettes and so on along the beach. The beach is lined with palm trees and covered in all different types of sea shells and tiny crabs who dig little holes in the sand to live in (we thought these were snake holes at first!). It is pretty much paradise apart from I was bitten over 35 times on the beach on the first day by tiny blood sucking flies. Charlie got about 2 bites. The second day we covered ourselves in insect repellent & were ok altho I did get stung by a jelly fish in the sea which was quite painful, it felt like 5 bee stings all at once.
Our hotel is only 2.50 a night which is brillant, altho we did change rooms first of all as there was a massive spider in the bathroom & the worlds biggest moth followed us in through the door! The next room we shared with a baby gecko so that was fine. Altho the one time I didn't check my trainers for spiders & just put my foot right in, I felt something in there & pulled it off & a gigantic beetle thing came running out, I hope he didn't lay eggs in there....
We are off to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) today, we could have stayed here a few more days but yet again we are going over budget & need to be in Cambodia for the 15th because of visas.
