Auckland is a huge city and we didn't have too much time to look around before getting our flight to Fiji. We were really looking forward to getting some sun as New Zealand was pretty chilly, especially sleeping in a van at night!

Rotorua is built near a volcano and it stinks like rotton eggs! (which is the sulphur). There are vents everywhere, even on the streets, where jets of smoke come out of the ground. The good thing about it is that all the caravan parks had free hot springs!

It was about 10pm when we arrived in Wellington & we noticed loads of camper vans in a car park that looked like they were camping out for the night so we parked up there but left at about 6am as we didn't want to get told off again!! We had a look around the town centre & watched a scary film in the evening before camping out in a caravan park this time!

Then there was the long drive to Picton to get the ferry across to Wellington...

We came to Kaikoura to go on a Whale Watching Tour but we also found another seal colony on the way. This time we found three sunbathing on the rocks! The Whale Watching boat trip was incredible. We saw 2 Sperm Whales & around 400 dusky dolphins! The Whales you could only see their back coming out of the water & their tails when they dove down. They leave behind them a "Whales Footprint" which looks like an oil slick. The dolphins were a ...
