Vang Vieng is a very chilled out place. We met two guys from Holland on the bus there, Jack & Alexander, who we went to dinner with that night & arranged to go tubing with the next day. We didn't get up early & didn't get to the river until about 1pm so it got a bit chilly after a while & we only went about 2-3km down the river. It was cool tho whilst the sun was out. You float down the river on the inside tube of a tyre & in places there are rocks you get stuck on & rapids in other places. At various points down the river (every two centimetres!) there are bars that you can stop & have a drink at, they also have jumps, swings & zipwires into the water, it was really good fun altho they give you "dry bags" to put all your stuff in but suprise suprise ours leaked! So we were sat in one bar with everything out in the sun, including money, drying it! Unfortunately, our camera is broken. In the evenings they have TV bars where they play episodes of friends, the simpsons, family guy & in some, movies. You can eat your dinner & chill out on the sofa watching films. Apart from that, there wasn't alot else to do there so after two days we were onto the next place!
