After arriving (finally) in Khajuraho, - it had grown up from a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. The hotel was not great and Fran was having lots of trouble with her knee (blamed on carrying to many bags).Anyway found a super Italian restaurant with good pizzas which cheered us up.
Next morning the first priority was to get Fran sorted out - she decided an Ayurvedic massage was what was needed so we found this place (as recommended in guide book) down a back street where these women covered in oil and pummeled her - I was not convinced!
The temples were very good - 10th century -lots of intricate carving covering all facets of their lives - including their sex lives!.
After seeing the main site we went on to another set which were not quite as good and then through the old village which was still run on caste lines. Not a place I really wanted to linger in as I there were lots of people just looking for money.
We left next day on an early bus - should have been 9:00 but we got the 8:00 - meant Fran missed breakfast again. The bus trip was 5 hours to Jhansi were we got the train to Agra (3 hours).Took a little bribery to get the ticket on the train as bookings were closed for A/C class.
