Waking up to my last day on Koh Lanta, it has been amazing, great sandy beaches and really good food. Very relaxed and chilled out after the last couple of days.! I didn't pack last night as check out isn't until 12. So had a sort out and a shower before packing my bag, and leaving the Lanta House. As I was leaving I noticed that a cat was climbing into a box at the front of the guest house, as i looked in I could see 5 kittens, could have only been about a week old...! I wanted to pick one up, but the mum wouldn't let me!! Lol.
I had about an hour to kill before my ferry transport to Ao Nang, so walked down the front (with my rucksack!), there were loads of bars and restaurants, and found one that looked over the water. More great Thai food. I just put my feet up and read my book while I was waiting for my lunch. I could see in the distance big black clouds heading our way, and was thinking its going to be a bad journey on the ferry! Nothing I could do about it! Walked another ten minutes to the pier and swapped my voucher for a sticker! Everyone gets these multicoloured stickers depending on their final destination! Boarded the boat, and dead on 13:30 the boat left the pier. I put my bag in the corner under a shelter, thinking that if it rained, it should be ok here. I sat inside, and continued to read. Only 20 minutes had passed before I started to feel see sick... I was staring at the horizon, as I'm sure someone told me that works in the past... Can't say it helped me much, I left the small air conditioned cabin, and decided to outside on the deck, slipping one leg either side of the metal railing, I dangled my feet of the side of the boat, I think the cool breeze of the water helped, and I didn't feel so sick. The winds started to pick up, the boat was up and down in the waves, the sky getting darker and darker... We had a few showers that lasted a couple of minutes but that didn't bother me just continued to enjoy the views, I could see all of the Phi Phi Islands. As the ferry arrived at the first stop, Railay Beach, (about 30 Minutes away from my stop) the rain just fell out of the sky, I ran, all 4 steps into the cabin and sat down, the water was coming down so heavy, and I kept an eye our on my rucksack as didn't really wanted it getting soaked. Other people started to bring their bags inside, so I copied them! Glad I did. When the ferry arrived at the Ao Nang pier, they gave us free transport to our hotels.! Mine was about a 5 minute walk from the beach, which I didn't mind, really nice rooms, and air conditioning! Unpacked some stuff, and did a laundry run! On the way up the main strip I saw the token Irish bar, so decided I would make my way there for a drink, and maybe some food. I meet a really nice couple, Rachel and Cian from Ireland, had a few drinks and food! It was a really good night. Still warm, and at least the rain had stopped. I flicked around on the TV that I have in my room, the first room that I've had one. A lot of crap, and I found a movie channel, thinking great... Harry Potter came on, and I thought I would watch it, until I noticed it was dubbed into Thai.. Don't think so, and switched it off!!
