As the sun sets on my first full day in Bangkok I have had a fun filled day exploring this great city!.. I'm currently sitting in a restaurant in Khao San Road (I guess it's like the Strip, bars, restaurants and shops! - Yes Andy this is where Mac D's is!), having a large beer & pizza, I know it's really not very Thai, but I'm starting my tour tomorrow and could really do without getting the s***s!
My morning started with a 15 minute walk down to the Grand Palace & the Emerald Buddha! I managed to take some pictures, but wasn't able to go in as wasn't dressed correctly! So I decided the best way to see the city and the buddha's was to get a Tuk-Tuk ride! It was the funniest and scariest thing I've done so far... It has only been 24 hours, the drivers are crazy.! But I got to see some great sites!!
My highlight was the large standing Buddha! However when standing next to it, in my gold/yellow coloured tee shirt and man boobs, I didn't happen to resemble the ancient god!
My Tuk-Tuk ride also included a visit to a tailors, of course I am not going to by an Armani suit to carry around for the next 4 months, but I guess my driver gets something the more people he gets to visit...
I had to get out of the sun so headed back to the air conditioned hostel, it's been about 38 degrees today!
There is a meeting sofa type area, so I chilled out there and the last Harry Potter was on, so I found myself watching it!
Chatted to some of the guys at the hostel, and planning to go out for a few beers..!

Bex sounds great xx I had 2 google 'tuk tuk' yesterday (didnt know what it was) apparently the drivers get petrol vouchers for taking tourists to places. Also read, the don't need training or driving licences! haha..... x
