Yesterday afternoon after the Portland Fair we headed off out of Oregon, through Idaho and on to Salt Lake City, Utah to stay Friday night. It was dark heading in to Salt Lake last night, so on our way out this morning we took a drive through the city to have a bit of a look. Unfortunately because we were pushed for time we couldn't go exploring, but maybe another time! It was still really good to see all the mountains all around with snow covering their peaks. There had been a recent snow fall, so there was even snow just off the edge of the road. Nice.
Today we drove just over 1400km's through Utah, Wyoming and on to stay with Buell Fogg and his wife Kathy in Lincoln, Nebraska. As we have already driven through Wyoming and Nebraska (more than once), I can't say that we really took in many new sights this time. Typically it's just pretty open farmland interrupted by the odd cluster of wind turbines. Oh wait, I lie, we did see something that was pretty unique. It was a Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster - a special edition limited model of which only 50 units were produced. However, even with its 6.5 litre V12 engine producing 650hp along with permanent four-wheel drive and a top speed of around 330 Km/h, we still managed to pass him and snap a photo while he was travelling at a tame 100 Km/h. What a stooge!
