The drive from Calgary, Alberta, to Kelowna, British Columbia, yesterday afternoon was absolutely amazing. The main highway 97 goes right through the middle of Banff National Park and Glacier National Park (BC), and unlike Glacier National Park in Montana, it was passable! The 600km drive from Calgary to Kelowna has been the most spectacular we have seen yet. It's so hard to find the words, let alone take pictures that can capture the beauty and magnitude of the mountains, glacier fields, lakes, rivers and scenery all around as you drive through. It was simply awesome.
Kelowna itself is a beautiful city that is central to Lake Okanagan - a huge lake that extends about 50km to the north and reaches almost to the United States border in the south. It's a very touristy town because of the lake access and close proximity to spectacular National Parks in the area. It's a popular spot for Houseboat tours.
Before our school visit Kristy shouted us and the other recruiters to lunch at a tasty Italian place called East Side Mario's. Thanks Kristy! During the last tour—the Mid-American Tour—Buell was the host for that region and so he shouted us all to a meal back in Minnesota. Thanks Buell!
Anyway, I should at least mention that the school we visited was Okanagan Adventist Academy.
