Chopperoo!!!! What a top day I have just had. Only in Australia would they give you a small, yet still deadly motorbike, and take you to a pub. Yes a pub. Anyways I better start the story from the begining. Me, Emma and Toby (Sweedish) and Rach and Tash (Irish) decided to go to a town called 1770 before our Whitsundays trip. Basically you can do two things here. Surf and ride. And I did both.

We all did a beginers surf lesson on the beach in the morning. Beacause of a recent storm we had perfect waves and grasped the very very basics. But it was fun and you have to surf if you come to Oz. Its practically the law. After a morning of surfing we were picked up and taken to the bike yard. When you get in a picked up in vanwith heavy metal music blaring and 14 people in a 11 seater van, you know your gonna have a good time. We picked our bikes and got told the basics and then all left the yard in a convoy. All 35 of us. After we had managed to build up some confidence the guy just let us go for it and soon we were doing 80KMPH (50MPH) racing with each other down a hill with nothing but a helmet and a lumberjack coat for safety. It was f**kin amazing. Such a great buzz. Then after having to stop for the group of kangaroos we headed off to the pub where we all grabbed a beer and some wedges and watched the sun set.

After our beer, we then had a race to see who could come first. Bare in mind it was now dark and so we were racing downhill, full speed, in the dark, on the opposite side of the road trying to come in a pole position. It was such a good laugh. And as soon as I got back I had a 9 hour bus journey to get on. Ahh well I suppose thats the downside to having such a memorable day.
