Weather overcast but dry so off we went to see Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). The main walking track took us to the top of one of the huge dome-like rocks (there are 28 or so in total), across and down into a Wilpena Pound like enclosure. It was most interesting & different to what I expected. We are off to King's Canyon tomorrow. Can't wait.

Difficult getting Steve & Yvonne out of bed even to walk around the base of Uluru. The walk was excellent. What I didn't expect were the hidden treasures revealed as you go - caves, rock markings, rock pools - assisted by the interpretive signs along the way. We finished the 10.6km walk by 11am and it was getting hot. Steve muttered something to the effect that maybe it was a good idea to get there early but I could be mistaken! Drove 500km today. Wasn't the plan but stopping during the heat of the day is not ideal so we kept driving and arrived at Yulara - and saved a day! Yulara is a resort with restaurants, fast food, arts & crafts, medical facilities, police station and a campground where we're staying.
