Today we set off from Cradle Mountain at about 10am there was still plenty of snow about. The weather was overcast but luckily the forecaat wind was not around making it a really enjoyable ride through the mountains. A little shower hit but the wet weather clothing stopped us getting wet and cold.
The road took us through Tullah, Rosebery and Zeehan. We were surrounded buy mountains and the smells for the forests were beautiful.
The twisty roads were fun with rated speeds in the corners ranging from 55km/h down to 35km/h and a few 25km/h. We took them fairly easy due to the roads being damp but really fun to ride.
I spotted a yellow tailed black cockatoo fly low between dad and myself as we road across the Henty River Crossing which was awesome seeing it in the wild.
We arrived in Strahan, stopped at the pub for a beer admiring the view and found our accommodation.
We are here for 2 nights to get some rest and do a bit of sight seeing before heading to Hobart via Queenstown and Derwent Bridge. This ride will the biggest ride of the trip.
