FARFRUMWURKEN
It's been a very long time since we've had to wait for this vacation since we returned from Tennessee but our departure date has finally arrived. We've decided that with our early a.m. flight on Friday to Los Angeles we would drive into the city with Tom & Jamie and stay at the Holiday Inn in Richmond because they will keep our car for a week at no charge (included in our room rate) and that way we can just hop the shuttle bus into YVR in the a.m.
Because we booked our flight and LA Hotel on TD points we've ended up having to travel to LAX on different flights than Tom & Jamie - they're on Air Canada and we'll be heading south on West Jet but arriving within 1 hour of each other so this should be ok - weather permitting.
We've booked a shuttle with a local firm at LAX to take us from the airport to San Pedro where we'll stay for the night and get the hotel shuttle to Pier 93 in the a.m. This cruise on the Sapphire Princess is really just for some fun in the sun - 7 days total leaving from Los Angeles and pulling into Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada before returning to LA the following Saturday (15th).
I'll try to update our Cabo Wabo blog when I get the opportunity for Wi-Fi so you might get a few days of updates all at once. We would wish that y'all could be with us and then it would be one hell of a party - for those in the east we'll be thinking about your cold and wintery nights.
Well we arrived ok (sorry for the wait at Carousel 3 Tom/Jamie) and caught the Prime Time Shuttle to San Pedro. You can tell these guys get paid by the trip - travelling some 90 mph in a 7-person van southbound on the 405 - we made it to our hotel without incident. Because we arrived a little early, we had to go for a walk for a couple of hours to "downtown" San Pedro. We ended up having lunch at the Beach Bar and Grill and then headed back for a couple hours nap.
At 7:00 p.m. we met up again for dinner and went to a local Sushi bar near the hotel and then retired for what will be a long check-in day tomorrow. All is well in southern California - Let the Good times roll.
